New This Year:
Obtain a more focused approach on:
- Tactical Data Link requirements for new NATO member states
- Network management and links between Links
- Next generation TDLs and increasing TDL capabilities
Mirroring the key priorites of the community, ensuring successful integration of TDLs into existing assets and interoperability between platform and forces will be two of the main aims. With more nations coming into the fold, especially in the Central and Eastern European region, the issues of interoperability and integration are crucial for any military looking for a clear strategic future in successful applications of TDLs.
Tactical Data Links 2010 will cover the issues that matter to you including:
- National TDL requirements from new NATO nations including Poland and established members including Britain and the Netherlands
- TDL integration into legacy assets
- Feedback of using TDLs in the modern operational environment
- Link network management, including systems approach to TDL interoperability
- Relationships between link systems, including Link 16 and FFT as well as VMF and Link 16
- TDL models for simulation training
Speakers at TDL 2010 include:
- Captain Rui Manuel Alves Francisco, C3 Staff Officer, NATO HQ
- Captain Martin Vogt, Fighter Allocator NE-3A, NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force Component

Event Backdrop & History
Defence IQ’s annual Tactical Data Link community event has brought together large numbers of delegates from over 30 different organisations over the last few years. Once again the TDL conference provides the platform for advancing key projects that will enable real time critical information share between battlefield assets.
Defence IQ’s Tactical Data Links conference has become a fixture in the calendar of those actively engaged in the challenges and opportunities of tactical data links on a daily basis. The ever-increasing pace and complexity of the current operational environment creates a necessity that forces must be networked and able to share real time critical information. With the inevitability of increasing demand on NCW, coalition interoperability remains dependent upon the continued exploitation of existing data links, and the development of new affordable and capable systems. TDLs remain the cornerstone of sharing tactical situational awareness - the bedrock of a network informed system.
