Orbit receives record 2nd quarter orders in excess of $5 million for marine VSAT Satellite Communication Systems , Oct 09

Worldwide VSAT systems orders are expected to exceed $100 million this year; Market research cites Orbit as key player  

Netanya, Israel, October 14, 2009   Orbit Technologies, a recognized leader in the development of advanced solutions for stabilized mobile satellite communication and tracking systems, has announced record orders for its satellite communication products.  The company reports 2^nd quarter additional orders in excess of $5 million of its marine VSAT systems.  According to Orbit, total worldwide VSAT systems orders are expected to exceed $100 million this year.

According to ‘Frost and Sullivan’, an international market research company, Orbit currently holds 17% of the world market for installations of VSAT antennae for satellite reception onboard marine platforms.  Orbit, according to market research, is considered the world’s second largest supplier of these types of systems.  ‘Frost and Sullivan’ asserts that the market size of the marine segment of satellite communication is expected to reach $1.3 billion (systems and services combined).

Cohen goes on to say,” We anticipate that in the near future, every moving platform such as ship or train will have broadband connectivity capability.  We believe this to be the inevitable consequence of the ever increasing ‘staying connected’ demand.  Orbit is certain to benefit from this growth.
